An independent studio that makes animated explainers, drawn by code.
We make animated explainers for viewers in the United States who like knowing why. What sets us apart is our animation engine, written with Claude Code, which gets better with every video we make.
What we make
We make animated explainer videos. So far they cover history, science, psychology and health, and we plan to take on any subject worth explaining. Long videos run from 6 to 27 minutes, depending on what the topic needs. We also make Shorts.
So far we have published 8 long videos and 7 Shorts on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheGraphiteMind. The narrator is an AI voice, and a skeptical Gen Z character named Zee asks the questions a viewer would ask.
Every script is researched by Claude Opus 5.5. Each claim is graded by strength of evidence and checked in a review round before anything is drawn. When the evidence is mixed, the video says so. How we check facts
Why it works
A reusable engine. Every frame is drawn by Python code. The code lives in one shared engine of about 33,000 lines, with 314 drawable props, 97 character designs, and 72 animals and plants. A new video reuses these parts and adds to them, so each video gets cheaper and better than the one before.
A small team. One founder runs the studio. Claude helps with research, fact-checking, scripts, subtitle translation and thumbnails. A person picks the topics, reviews each video and publishes it.
A fixed process. Production runs in five stages: research and script, animation code with a stand-in voice, AI voices from ElevenLabs, subtitles with titles and thumbnails, and a final render. All of it runs on one MacBook Air.

Where we're going
-
Today
Eight long videos and seven Shorts are live, with subtitles in English and 8 other languages. The engine grows with every video.
-
Next 6 months
We plan a steady weekly schedule of long videos and Shorts, dubbed tracks in Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi, and an open release of the engine's character kit as a reusable library.
-
Next 12 months
We plan localized channels, classroom versions of our videos with short quizzes, and a faster pipeline so one person can ship more videos without losing accuracy.
How we plan to earn
We do not earn money yet. Our plan is to earn in several ways.
The first source we plan is YouTube ad revenue, once the channel is eligible. We plan sponsorships only where they fit education. We plan to license our videos and classroom cuts to teachers and schools. We also plan localized channels and dubbed tracks, so viewers who do not use English can watch in their own language.
Who we are
The Graphite Mind is run by one founder. It is an independent channel with no outside funding so far. Claude Code is a tool from Anthropic, which we use to write our code. Anthropic does not sponsor or endorse this channel.
The founder chooses the topics, reads the scripts, reviews each finished video and decides when it is published.
